The Palace was built in the 18th century by Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma in the regional Kerala architecture which gives this palace a touch of heritage and history. Alleppey being a coastal city had lighthouses that were the ray of light for the ships to navigate to the coast in the old times. However, this lighthouse was built in the year 1862 as a tourist attraction from where tourists could see the whole of the city and the Arabian Sea at a distance. The Thalassery light was the first of its kind in Kerala which was built in the year 1835, when the Kerala port was a booming trade spot.
The family was avid collectors of fine art and artefacts for over three generations. The collection was maintained in private domain. After Revi’s demise, Betty decided to open the collection to the public. Betty and Lullu have dedicated the museum in the memory of a most beloved husband and loving father. The museum was inaugurated on the 22nd November 2006 by the former Meghalaya governor, Sri. M.M. Jacob.
The RKK museum is an architectural marvel. The museum, which has an area of 28,000 SQFT, took about three years to complete. One unique feature of the museum is that you will see that the four major religions in India—Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism—have equal prominence on the mural, ivory collection, Kerala room and the items displayed in the old wing.
This beach is one of the best beaches in Kerala as it is not very crowded since it is located 11 km from the city of Alleppey. Sree Krishna Temple,Ambalappuzha(4am to 12:30pm, 5pm to 8pm)
Ambalapuzha Sri Krishna temple is positioned in Ambalapuzha, Alapuzha district in the state of Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna. The Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple is believed to have been built during 15th – 17th AD by the local ruler Chembakasserry Pooradam Thirunal-Devanarayanan Thampuran.
The idol at Ambalapuzha is likened to Parthasarthi with a whip in the right hand and a Shankhu (sacred conch) in the left. This temple is directly associated to the Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple.
The temple is associated with the origin of the famous performing art form of Kerala – Ottamthullal. It is believed that legendary Malayalam poet Kalakkaththu Kunchan Nambiar created this unique art form in the Ambalappuzha Temple premises
Mannarasala Temple ,Harippad (5am to12pm, 5:30pm to 7:30pm)
There is none that is more benign, oweinspiring and legendary than Mannarasala, as blessed and envisaged by Lord Parasurama, the creator of Kerala. In the light of experience, many devotees who have experienced and heard about the miraculous powers of the serpents and the presiding deities here, tell many stories about Mannarasala temple. It is not a rare thing to see the same serpent appear in the same location for a number of days in the temple premises. On the steps of the gatehouse, on the hedgerows, among the creepers; those who perform bhajanam in the temple can stand very close at any time and pray.
Punnamada Kayal –
It is a beautiful yet peculiar sight. This region has the lowest altitude in India, where farming is done at a level below the sea level which is quite intriguing. However, this location is not famous for its geographical peculiarity but for its houseboats. Tourists can cruise in houseboats for the rest of their day and spend a relaxing tour of the whole palace with Kerala cuisine and drink on the boat. Edathua st george Church

Built in 1810 and dedicated to St. George, the St. George Forane Church is among the prime attractions in this tranquil backwater district. Its annual feast (5th, 6th and 7th of May) sees believers from across the southern parts of the country, throng in great numbers to seek aid and blessings for their near and dear ones.
